From 1 February, electric scooter users in Barcelona will need to adapt to new regulations introducing stricter riding rules. Fines can reach up to €500, and one of the main new measures is the penalty for not wearing a helmet.
Mandatory helmets: a key safety measure
Helmet use is now mandatory for electric scooter riders in Barcelona. With the aim of improving road safety and reducing risks, this measure is designed to protect both riders and other pedestrians and vehicles. Riders who fail to wear a helmet may face a €100 fine.
