FAQ

The maximum speed established by European regulations for an electric bicycle is 25 km/h. If the bike exceeds this speed with the help of the engine, it is considered a motorcycle and is governed by other laws. From 25 km/h, the motor of the electric bike stops helping, but you can continue pedalling and, if you have more pedalling power, you can go faster.

There are many types of electric bicycles, just as many as conventional bicycles. At Youin we have Electric City Bikes, MTB Electric Mountain Bikes, Electric FAT Bikes, Electric Folding Bikes, etc. You can see them all at weareyouin.com

An electric bicycle comes with pedal assistance. It is not a bike that works without pedalling, because then it would be a motorcycle. The electric bicycles work by pedalling and, in addition, they have a system that calculates how fast you are pedalling or how much force you are applying when pedalling. This data is received by an electronic controller that boosts the motor to assist you. If you stop pedalling, the ebike will stop helping you. Electric bikes usually have between 3 and 5 assistance modes. If you put mode 1 you will have a little help from the motor and if you put mode 5 the motor will help you much more.
